Sports Psychology

Performance is psychological before it is physical.

Every athlete reaches a point where talent is no longer the differentiator. What separates those who perform under pressure from those who fold is the quality of their mental preparation, their ability to recover, and their willingness to look honestly at what is getting in the way.

I work with athletes and teams to build the internal architecture that holds when the moment demands it.

Who this is for:

  • Individual athletes navigating slumps, injury recovery, or the jump between competitive levels.
  • Teams working to strengthen culture, cohesion, and composure when it counts.
  • Coaches who want psychological tools woven into their training environment.

My approach:

I competed at the national team level for over a decade. That experience shaped everything about how I approach this work. I understand what pressure actually feels like inside a competition, how identity becomes entangled with results, and what the road back from a setback really requires.

My work draws on applied sport psychology, cognitive-behavioural methods, and performance science. Every program is tailored to the athlete or team in front of me, because performance is always personal.

As I wrote in On Creating Change That Endures, the qualities that sustain high performance over time are often quieter than the ones that get you started.

What we work on

  • Pre-competition routines and managing performance anxiety
  • Confidence rebuilding after injury or loss of form
  • Focus, composure, and decision-making under pressure
  • Team dynamics, communication, and leadership on the field
  • Identity and transition, including life after sport

The mind is the foundation of performance. My job is to help you build one that holds.
